Statements of Belief
Salvation
Salvation is found only through Jesus Christ. He alone is the “way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Him." (John 14:6)
Repentance
Repentance is a crucial part of discipleship. If we are going to follow Jesus, then we need a.) to trust His definition of sin and righteousness, b.) respond to the Biblical call for repentance, and c.) seek to live a holy life as defined by the scriptures. (Acts 2:38) Repentance is uncomfortable and difficult, but it is necessary in order to put our hope in Jesus instead of in our own way.
Evangelism
Evangelism is a natural byproduct for all disciples. Jesus commissioned all his disciples to go and be His witnesses in the world. (Matthew 28:18-20) If we are not seeking to be actively involved in evangelism, something is wrong in our relationship with God.
The Word of God
The Word of God, without mistake and in completion, teaches the truth of God. (Matthew 24:35) Both the Old and New Testaments are our rule of life and should guide our every decision as disciples of Jesus both individually and as a community of believers.
Connections
The local church is how God chooses to proclaim most boldly. As He has called each member to this body of believers, so He has gifted us together to proclaim His truth. (1 Cor. 12:12) We are called specifically to invest in those who cannot return the favor and are the “least of these” in the world around us.
Fellowship
Regular meeting together as believers helps us grow as disciples. If we neglect the gathering together in Bible Study, worship, fun times, and prayer in the local church, our spiritual health will suffer. (Hebrews 10:25)
Personal Growth
Holy growth, not comfort, is our goal. We do not want to become comfortable in this temporary world but rather remember our future hope in heaven. (Philippians 3:20) We want to help others to develop grit in Christ, not enable them to run from the call of God.
