"What adventures do we have planned for today, daddy?"
Anxious anticipation, knowing we're gonna do SOMETHING fun. Sometimes it is something they will be convinced is fun, but fun will be had. To see the world through the eyes of a child...adventures around every corner. Wonder. Amusement. Awe. That silly, belly laugh that echoes and pulls others closer, into the moment of joy.
Like when Parks opened his candy only to find the pack only had ONE gummy in it...and then promptly drops it on the ground! (Picture in comments) Exploring in nature through all the seasons, with today Mommy challenging us to collect the biggest leaves possible. There's part of me that wants to say days like these are where memories are made--but the real truth is that EVERY DAY is a day where memories can be made. And are made.
God has goodness TODAY. The other day Maggie was lamenting about this or that and Larkspur turned to her and said, "God has goodness Maggie!" At which point I smiled such a big smile. Remembering God's goodness helps transform the mundane into the miraculous.
