Ezri decided to put on my hat and proceeded to try to intimidate me via many roars (and smiles). I remember clearly the first time I put this hat on at the beginning of the winter and Ez immediately kept roaring at me and wanted the bear hat OFF!
It continues to amaze me how the things that sometimes scare us at first later become sources of amusement and even strength because you learn it is NOT worth being scared about.
2 Kings 6:16-17 reminds us that there is SO much more than what we can honestly see about the scary situations that find us. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
John 14:27 also tells us Jesus's words to his disciples right before he dies - “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
May God continue to help us be strong in HIS power and strength through whatever comes and roars at us today. Or tomorrow. Or the next day. Until the storm has passed.
