Overcoming our Fears
Ez can be the biggest, most snuggly child you have ever met. Ez can can also be the most antagonistic individual possible. He loves...I mean LOVES Lark. But he also loves...I mean LOVES antagonizing her as well.
Last week we got out these dinosaurs and he was immediately drawn to the t-rex ... first for play, and then, quite suddenly, for scaring purposes. Parks is not so scared and growls back. And now Maggie is finished living in fear and has begun the retaliation phase of their relationship. Any dinosaur near her and there's a screaming spitfire that descends upon and THERE WILL BE TEARS! But the Larkster is still a wee-bit young for these self-defense mechanisms. And so Ez has tried to chase her with this t-rex when we aren't looking. But as Ezri was still brushing his teeth, Lark decided to be brave and show me how brave she can truly be by embracing that t-rex.
Deuteronomy 31:6 says “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” And Psalm 56:3–4 says “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?” May God provide the strength and peace you need today with whatever is scary in your life today.
