A Sincere Faith- 3.16.2023

Ezri is NOT William Wallace. He was not even trying to be Mel Gibson. But sometimes the purple paint falls where it does, and we run with the Braveheart moment.

Intriguingly enough, there were no pictures or paintings of William Wallace, he had no children that we know of, and the only description we have is based on stories by a guy named Blind Harry some 200 years after Wallace's death (which, well, draw your own conclusions there!) What we do know is that he had a sincere faith in something and was willing to die for it - and he did die for it. He was hanged, disemboweled, drawn and quartered, and then beheaded. But killing him did not stop the movement. His martyrdom laid the groundwork for Scottish independence.

Now, I am not wishing death upon my children, but I am praying and hoping and investing in them so that they might someday be such men and women of God that they would be willing to say, "Not my will, but yours o Lord." And follow Christ wherever he might take them.
